Overlooking the National Trust listed Trawool Valley, The Trawool Estate is an iconic property where locals gather and visitors experience a unique escape among nature. Acquired in 2019 by a local family passionate about breathing new life into this historic building, every space has undergone significant beautification.

The Hotel features 20 luxury hotel rooms and for those after family accommodation, we have 7 two-room spaces (Valley Rooms) available with uninterrupted views of the Trawool landscape. Click here to view.

Foodies and wine-lovers will be delighted by the stunning view in Wild Water restaurant. Proudly named after the local Taungurung word Traawool. Serving beautiful food in a relaxed, elevated space, the focus is on highlighting the best locally sourced produce, in a place where friends and family can come together. Wild Water hosts multiple private dining spaces soaking up the scenery, including an open fireplace and the amazing Dome Room.

Turbine restaurant (winning the Best Regional Hotel Restaurant Vic 2022) is an amazing speakeasy style bar featuring share-style international cuisine and impeccable cocktails, set in an intimate space downstairs. Be prepared decadence and late nights at The Trawool Estate.

Granite Bar is our casual hotel bar where you catch up with friends, enjoy the game on the TV’s or grab a bite to eat in front of the open fireplace.
“We’ve kept many of the original features and all the charm of this 1870’s watering hole.” We’ve also carefully curated the wine list, which features drops from the local vineyards and across Australia and the World. Awarded Best Regional Hotel Bar 2023 we know you’ll love Granite.

Herb Garden Pizzeria is relaxed, outdoor family-friendly dining. With uninterrupted views of the Trawool Valley and the soundtrack of your summer playing in the background, it’s a fabulous place to enjoy catching up with friends and family.

The Terrace, our post popular ceremony location, is set across the road from the main building, nestled into the Warrigul Rocks bush surround. The tiered amphitheater-style space with Astroturf for all-weather weddings and events, makes for a magical and unique place.

Trawool is intent on supporting their community, so menus will highlight the very best of produce and wine sourced from the surrounding areas. Families will love the expansive grounds to roam - with a solar heated outdoor pool, squash court, tennis and multipurpose courts and expansive grounds for kids to explore. Adventurers can get their fix with horse-riding and bush walking and finish the day off with a delicious meal or glass or wine under the stars.

Walking Tracks

Great Victorian Rail Trail
The Great Victorian Rail Trail runs from Tallarook to Mansfield and can be explored on foot, bike or horse. This unique rail trail features a series of artworks and runs behind our wonderful Estate. With stunning views of the mountains, bushlands, wildlife & heritage classified rivers and the iconic Cheviot Tunnel an easy 30km from The Estate. Garwarn Baring Walking Track
Explore this 4.8-km out-and-back trail only metres from the Estate along the edge of Tallarook State Forest before reaching the historic Trawool Reservoir. A moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2hrs to complete. Great for bird watching, hiking, and walking, and open year-round it has beautiful views, a little waterfall, and two fishing platforms near the picnic area.

Vietnam Veterans Commemorative Walk
A wonderful way to learn about those who fought for us, and spend an afternoon stroll, the Vietnam Veterans Walk is located in Seymour. The Military heritage features 106 glass panels and real-life memorabilia alongside a centurion tank, a Huey helicopter, artillery and an M1A1 APC. Easy access and carparking make this an excellent all abilities activity. 4 Wallis St, Seymour.

Yea Wetlands Walk
Great for hikers, kids, families, and couples, this scenic walk is only 30 minutes from The Estate. Enjoy the Franklin track across the cable suspension bridge and look for platypus, Rakali Conative Water Rats, and the occasional koala in the old gum trees! Yea Wetlands Walk is a great place for a relaxing picnic, and dogs are welcomed on leash. The walk is 1.54km with a low elevation of 171.30 located in John Cummins Reserve in Yea Victoria. www.yeawetlands.com.au
